Where do I shop?

I am quite frugal when it comes to shopping; however, I also love expensive streetwear clothing. Hopefully this post gives some insight into where to shop that won't break the bank.

      1. The Windsor Smith and Lipstik Southwharf DFO stores (Melbourne readers only)

These are the two shops in the world I would spend all of my time in if I could. Both the Windsor Smith and Lipstik stores here sell their current stock at THE MOST discounted prices.

Additionally, the DFO often has a pop-up shop in which the two brands combine and sell their shoes for even greater discounts!!!

      2. Follow instagram pages such as @bargainhunteraus, @melbournewarehoussales or regularly check websites such as Missy Confidential to find out when your favourite brands are having warehouse sales.

Alternatively, go online and subscribe to the electronic Newsletter of ALL of your favourite brands. You won't regret it when it allows you to find out about the frequent Tony Bianco Warehouse Sales and Shakuhachi Warehouse Sales, or gives you sale discounts not available to unsubscribers - E.g. Asos. Additionally, you will enjoy the discount code/ voucher you receive for subscribing.

      3. How Two Live sales (for Melbourne readers only)

If you don't know who the How to Live sisters are, check them out on their website here. They are two Australian fashion bloggers with enviable wardrobes.

Usually towards the beginning of the year (April/ May), Jess and Stef hold a sale on Chapel st in Melbourne. Whilst they have only held this once a year thus far, it is worth going and purchasing half your wardrobe for the next year

They sell current season pieces that they are no longer wearing, from brands such as Cameo, Alice Mccall, Sass & Bide, Nicholas, Finders Keepers, Shakuhachi, Tallulah, Lazy Oaf, and much more. The clothing is very cheap. Furthermore, the clothing is at fixed amounts; Every top is the same amount, every skirt is the same amount, etc.

The HTL 2014 sale - Did I mention that they also sell accessories and jewelry and the most amazing shoes you have ever seen?

      4. Bronze Snake

I fell in love with this Chapel street store because of their thrift store pricing (by this, I mean that with only few exceptions, all tops are a fixed price and all dresses a fixed price, etc.). Their reasonable prices are another reason to love them.

In winter, I find my basic wardrobe pieces from here as well as coats and other outerwear. In summer, my stand-out pieces come from here. The brands they stock are those that make great quality, fashionable streetwear, but do not cost a fortune.

Bronze snake have an online store; however, it is not nearly as comprehensive as what they stock instore.

They are also known for having some pretty good sales:

      5. On VIP night / Online at end of season sales.

This one may seem obvious, but not many people take advantage of it. Familiarise yourself with the VIP dates for your favourite shopping centre for the entire calendar year.

Furthermore, end of season sales (which Australia is currently in) are used by retailers - especially online retailers- to get rid of stock they don't want to carry into the next season.

My entire wardrobe this year has pretty much come from the end of season sale of the last two months.
